AdClear ("the extension") hides clearly labeled sponsored and advertising
content inside the ChatGPT web interface (chatgpt.com and
chat.openai.com). This policy explains exactly what the
extension collects, why, where it is stored, and what it never touches.
AdClear does not read, store, or transmit:
No page or conversation content ever leaves your browser.
Supabase (our database backend) is the only party the data above is sent to — the sole backend for usage counts, feedback, and Pro license validation. Nothing is sent to any other third party. There is no advertising, tracking, or sale of data, and no remote code is loaded — all code ships in the extension package.
Local data (settings, count) stays in your browser until you clear it or uninstall. Anonymous counts and feedback are retained in Supabase to track long-term trends. Because the device ID is random and not tied to your identity, we cannot look you up by name; to delete records associated with your device ID, send it to us (see Contact) and we will remove them.
The extension requests only what it needs: local storage (settings, count, trial/license state), access to the active tab for popup actions, periodic alarms (to flush the anonymous count and re-check a Pro license), and network access to the ChatGPT domains (where ads are hidden) and our Supabase backend (counts, feedback, license validation).
